Tyre 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Portrait of a Social Cooperative (2010)

This video installation presents static shots filmed in the fishermen housing cooperative and its surroundings in Tyre. The shots are unedited in an attempt to record and convey the peacefulness and banality of life.

The four monitors play simultaneously the same 5 sequences but each in a different order, hence proposing various facets of the housing cooperative, in a ‘cubist-like’ approach. There is always one sequence missing on the monitors, emphasizing the fact that the viewer can never obtain a full representation of the cooperative.
